Linocut Process
The research process is paramount to ensure that I know the size ratios between my subject matter.
Step 1 Research
Drawing and inking my drawings on tracing paper allows me to layer them and see how they look together visually.

After I scan my drawings into the computer I can document them into my sketchbook for safe keeping.
Step 2 Sketchbook
I use scrap pieces of lino to test carve an idea and make adjustments to my drawing so I can carve it successfully.
Step 3
I scan my drawings. Using Procreate, Photoshop or Affinity Photo construct a composition using them digitally.
Step 4
Print off my composition and use an iron to transfer it on linocut backwards.
Step 5
I carve my linocut backwards so it prints the correct way.
Step 5
I use my digitized composition to create miniaturized compositions to test difference watercolour or ink colour palettes.
Step 5
Once I was happy with a colour test palette it becomes reference when painting each individual linocut.
Step 6
Using a brayer I roll out my oil based ink and coat my carving in ink. I then lay my paper over the carving and print my piece.
Step 7
After 2 weeks of oil based ink drying I can now paint with watercolour or Ink. After I add composite Gold Leaf.
